Highlights:
- The story itself is awesome: the locations range from your Northern Realm's Velen (no man's land), the free and beautiful city of Novigrad and The Skellige Isles (very norse-like in several aspects, feels like you're in the land of the Vikings to an extent).
- Vast open world that IS NOT randomly created and filled with dull stuff.
- This is the first open world Witcher game.
- Awesome game, reminds me of Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, and Dragon Age. Bringing the best of those together in a world bigger than GTA V is truly something magnificent. While also telling a very good and mature story in a beautiful setting.
- You can import your save file from previous witcher games or answer questions during your beard shave which will shape the game.
- For those who have enjoyed previous Witcher games, there's little that will be unexpected- combat with unique enemies that requires forethought, but now with a crossbow, more gear and better lock control. The real improvements are in atmosphere and exploration.
- The Witcher 3 can be rough around the edges and other games are definitely doing some more impressive things technically, but the overall Witcher 3 experience is definitely greater than the sum of its parts (found in 3 reviews).

Main story and side quests
- The game is separated into 3 questing categories. Main storyline, secondary and witcher contracts each of which has its own story and memorable moments. The lore will keep players engaged.
- You actually get to feel like a real witcher\monster hunter by taking on some really fun witcher contracts.
- This game has the best side quests ever. They‘re funny, cruel, sad and sometimes ridiculous (in a good way).
Graphics
- Simply stunning. It's the best looking RPG I have played and the places I got to visit especially later in the game made my jaw drop left and right.
- On the technical side the game runs really smooth, although with certain drops from 60 FPS to ~40 FPS.
Gameplay:
- While the game is fairly easy on the lower difficulties, it becomes brutal on the hardest difficulty, Death March, exploration and side quests becoming the only way to survive during the early stages of the game, the difficulty becoming way more bearable once you go higher up in level (you also need to use potions/oils alot early on in order to survive the contracts).
- The Witcher 3 also has a game inside a game. It is called gwent. It‘s a card game and it can be really addicting (found in 3 reviews).
- Traveling by walking, running, horseback, swimming, boat immersion and fast travel requires signposts instead of just a game about instant traveling all over. Exploration can also bring out more quests you've never seen before.
- Simple yet advanced combat system, e.g, potions, oils, bombs, decoctions, etc.
- Controls and combat system are different from TW2. The combat got easier and requires less strategy. Although the combat was made simpler, it is not boring at all, and the difficulty is adjustable so the strategy becomes necessary sometimes.
- Crafting system is superb and, true to immersion, weapons and armor must be physically contracted to smiths for crafting.
- The combat is best compared to Dark Souls and Monster Hunter, as long as you're not overlevelled or playing a low difficulty setting.
Sound:
- The voice acting is great, much better than Witcher 2 and feels far more professional.
Recommended for:
- If you like open worlds and action RPGs.
- For Geralt de Rivia fans.
- If you liked previous Witcher games or books.
- Get this game if you want, heavy story, tons of quests, beautiful landscape, legit dark fantasy feels and weighted skilled-required combat that's not just mindless hack and slash or pause-planning.
