Terraria user reviews

Dig, fight, explore, build! Nothing is impossible in this action-packed adventure game. Four Pack also available!

Highlights:

  • Terraria is simply a great game (found on 28 reviews).
  • Terraria is an amazingly fun to play 2D sandbox game. You start off with nothing but as you discover Terraria you notice how much is in this game (found in 6 reviews).
  • Not laggy, Smooth game play and support for co-op, can sometimes be ram-eater for your PC.
  • Recommended for anyone who enjoyed survival games like Minecraft, and to any one who loves discovery, the unkown, and dungeons.
  • This game should set the standards for upcoming sandbox games: lots of items, the developers stay in touch with the community, and has so many more enemies than any other game.
  • Terraria is a fun game and even more fun with friends.
  • Lasts a long time, with more than 100 hours of play.
  • Better than Minecraft in many areas (found in 15 reviews).
  • The price is cheap for the amount of content and hours of fun you will have with this game.
  • Boss fights are epic, specially if you play with your friends.

Gameplay:

  • There's a lot to explore in this game and it's randomly generated too, all over the world you'll find chests to loot with nice goodies in including money and items that you can use, it's very fun to follow a cave structure down into the depths of world whilst lighting the entire path up with torches.
  • The combat is pretty straight forward and basic, the range weapons (Bows and Guns) shoot very similar, you point where you want to shoot and it shoots there, simple as.
  • Like Minecraft, you can build, but unlike Minecraft you won't be spending too much of your time building, nor will you really care on the appearance of your house all that much either. The only real building you'll be doing is making an arena to fight bosses, and making little flats for the NPCs to live in.
  • You will build a house so that random people and can move in take up a room and rip you off with prices.

Graphics:

  • These are very basic elements of the game, it's a pixel game, but the graphics complete the gameplay with their simplistic but comforting style

Recommended for

  • If you do buy Terraria then after finishing it check out "The story of Red Cloud" mod/story/map because it's amazing as well.
  • If you like to play with friends.
  • If you liked Minecraft.

Highlights:

  • Different worlds for beginners and advanced (found in 2 reviews).
  • This game is like Minecraft + Cubeworld + WoW, Even i am playing on NA server (I am in AU) It doesn't feel like i have a high ping, more like it's a single player smooth game.
  • Cornerstones are great, in that the player can have a portable house that they can throw anywhere out in the hostile adventure zones, as a "home away from home".
  • Large open worlds (found in 4 reviews).
  • Basically a suped-up version of Cube World with MMO elements that's actually being updated.
  • The F2P system is also excellently designed, with premium accounts earning extra rewards for things such as dungeons, and a few exclusive items.
  • 10/10 Times Better Than Cubeworld and one Of The Best F2P Games (found in 4 reviews).
  • It has the art style and visuals of Minceraft, the exciting boss battles and loot drops of the Borderlands series, and the MMO aspect & RPG elements of Realm of the Mad God (found in 3 reviews).
  • Plenty of interesting classes to play and easy to unlock (found in 3 reviews).
  • Not P2W (everything can be bought with in game currency except for a few exlusives and cash shop cosmetics).
  • There is a lot to do in the game ranging from solo questing dungeons to doing shadow arena (kind of like a raid) with a bunch of friends and a good profession system with; ringcrafting, gardening, fishing and crafting (found in 4 reviews).
  • Awesome loot system (found in 18 reviews).
  • Helpful community (found in 4 reviews).

Gameplay:

  • The game makes it fun to do both building and fighting, and makes it so its hard to get bored of either.
  • The entire game is randomly generated making there feel like there's nothing to actually explore, it's just randomly generated terrain and dungeons (that also seem to be very repetitive).
  • Fun gameplay (found in 20 reviews).
  • The gameplay is pretty repetitive, since most of it involves going to dungeons to get your currency and loot. The closest to a quest system available are Challenges, which can only be done once you've hit Mastery Rank 30, and they only happen once every 20 minutes or so. Plus, all you get out of them is flux (one of the main currencies in the game) and Boxes.
  • The max level is 20 and gear can be adjusted and upgraded to better suit your playstyle.
  • Character customization is simple and easy to use, but I'd like to see more colors and options for the face, as well as body options.
  • Mounts, pets and wings provide smoother gameplay but doesn't make you overpowered damage wise. Most of these things are just pleasing to look at while defeating mobs.

Issues:

  • Great game until you hit a 800+ minute wait time. Once servers have enough space this will be the game to go to.
  • Queue Position : 1000+. Estimated Wait: more than 30 minutes. Happens too often... (found in 4 reviews).
  • The time it takes to connect to the servers can be tedious.

Recommended for:

  • If you like Cube World or Minecraft.
  • If you like playing with friends.
  • If you enjoy open world games.

System Requirements:

  • OS: Vista 32-bit Service Pack 2
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2XXX @ 2.0GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 @ 2.6GHz
  • Memory: 1 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 3000 or better
  • DirectX: Version 10
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Hard Drive: 1 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: Graphics driver: OpenGL 3.2 or DirectX 10.0, Glyph Client, and registered Trion Worlds Account
