Terraria user reviews

Dig, fight, explore, build! Nothing is impossible in this action-packed adventure game. Four Pack also available!

Users comments:

Highlights:

  • Terraria is simply a great game (found on 28 reviews).
  • Terraria is an amazingly fun to play 2D sandbox game. You start off with nothing but as you discover Terraria you notice how much is in this game (found in 6 reviews).
  • Not laggy, Smooth game play and support for co-op, can sometimes be ram-eater for your PC.
  • Recommended for anyone who enjoyed survival games like Minecraft, and to any one who loves discovery, the unkown, and dungeons.
  • This game should set the standards for upcoming sandbox games: lots of items, the developers stay in touch with the community, and has so many more enemies than any other game.
  • Terraria is a fun game and even more fun with friends.
  • Lasts a long time, with more than 100 hours of play.
  • Better than Minecraft in many areas (found in 15 reviews).
  • The price is cheap for the amount of content and hours of fun you will have with this game.
  • Boss fights are epic, specially if you play with your friends.

Gameplay:

  • There's a lot to explore in this game and it's randomly generated too, all over the world you'll find chests to loot with nice goodies in including money and items that you can use, it's very fun to follow a cave structure down into the depths of world whilst lighting the entire path up with torches.
  • The combat is pretty straight forward and basic, the range weapons (Bows and Guns) shoot very similar, you point where you want to shoot and it shoots there, simple as.
  • Like Minecraft, you can build, but unlike Minecraft you won't be spending too much of your time building, nor will you really care on the appearance of your house all that much either. The only real building you'll be doing is making an arena to fight bosses, and making little flats for the NPCs to live in.
  • You will build a house so that random people and can move in take up a room and rip you off with prices.

Graphics:

  • These are very basic elements of the game, it's a pixel game, but the graphics complete the gameplay with their simplistic but comforting style

Recommended for

  • If you do buy Terraria then after finishing it check out "The story of Red Cloud" mod/story/map because it's amazing as well.
  • If you like to play with friends.
  • If you liked Minecraft.

Ark: Survival Evolved user reviews

As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing & starving on a mysterious island, you must hunt, harvest, craft items, grow crops, & build shelters to survive. Use skill and cunning to kill or tame & ride the Dinosaurs & primeval creatures roaming the land, & team up with hundreds of players or play locally!

Users comments:

Highlights:

  • One of the best games in years and certainly the best survival game around (found in 4 reviews).
  • You can play Ark: Survival Evolved both as a single player game, as well as in multiplayer mode, either on public or privately hosted servers.
  • You can try to tame and ride dinosaurs.
  • Great private server options and a single player mode.
  • Great leveling system (found on 10 reviews).

Gameplay:

  • On your own is going to take a long time to make a study house and gather materials.
  • Crafting is very seamless, pretty much a basic system though, which works just fine for replayablity. Repairs are on the spot until you get better items then you'll use the Smithy. You can refine items so they won't break when you level higher (found on 12 reviews).
  • You'll get killed constantly, either by a player or by a dino.
  • It's easy to get killed by high level players while you're a newbie.
  • The community that is sheltered by official servers is incredibly toxic. If you don't have an "in" with one of the supertribes that belong to a server, you're probably going to get raided/killed in a few days (found in 4 reviews).
  • It's easier to play on PVE servers or a private server with friends (found on 6 reviews).

Issues:

  • The developers of ARK are constantly updating the game with patches to increase optimization and bugfixing. They're always adding new content.
  • Optimization is pretty bad which means you need a high end system to play (found on 4 reviews).
  • The company does not intend to wipe/reset the official servers, so superclans get richer, while scattered tribes and solo players get poorer.
  • The graphics are good, but the performance issues are huge (found on 12 reviews).
  • This lag isn't a problem on most local/private servers.

Recommended for:

  • If you like survival games.
  • If you like minecraft, Dayz and 7 Days to Die.
  • If you enjoy open world games, with highly realistic day/night cycle and temperature.

System Requirements:

OS: 64-Bit Windows 7 Service Pack 1, or Windows 8
Processor: 2 GHz Dual-Core 64-bit CPU
Memory: 4000 MB RAM
Graphics: DirectX10 Compatible GPU with 1 GB Video RAM
DirectX: Version 10
